the world spins as one falls to the ground;
the tears flow and the cries resound;
an empty heart matches the empty hand
straining to grasp or what no longer stands.
a heart is thrown from the course once set
with a tragic love destined to remain unmet,
sacrificed to feed a bullet's hunger for the skin
of a man, his secrets now locked within.
the world spins as one falls to the ground
and greets the room with a wait of sound;
a small heart matches the tiny hand
and little feet that cannot yet stand.
a heart is filled beyond boundaries once set
with a maternal love-- its dreams now met;
nurtured beneath a mother's soft skin,
a river of warm blood is locked within.

Personal comments:
Wow... it's been such a long time since I've been able to properly update my journal.
To be perfectly honest, this is probably not the best timing for me to do so, but since I am awake at 6am in the morning, and my brain needs a break from studying, I will do so anyway!
Finals this week, and I must say- my brain is really dying. One down, two exams and a final paper to go. Grades not quite as good as I would like them to be, but my GPA should be all right.
Other than that... Christmas is almost here! I can't wait for the holidays, though I honestly haven't done any Christmas shopping yet.
How sad is it that that's really all the updates I have for my life? ... depressing.
Anyway! You may have noticed (or probably not) that I added a few new people to my "Accounts Worth Watching" group. I've decided that I should definitely jump on the bandwagon and put up some featured artists.
Featured Artists:

When I was thinking about who to add to the list, AutumnsGoddess came to mind right away. I'm sure quite a few of you have seen her work, so I'm not exactly discovering anyone hidden here, but I've always loved her gallery and couldn't resist featuring it here.
If you're a fan of surreal images, she has quite a few that are worth your time to check out. If you like fantasy- she has quite the cream of the crop for you to choose from. Lots of different concepts and styles within her art... definitely a must see.

Also an easy choice. I'm sure a lot of people are familiar with her as well, but I felt the need to include her in the featured artists. I first noticed her when I was trying to decide which print to request as my prize for winning in the caption contest. If you look at my wishlist, there's more than one from her... and I had to restrain myself to keep from asking for more of then. If you're looking for prints- glance through hers; it's like being a very hungry fat kid kid in a candystore.
Spare a moment to look around her gallery- you'll understand why I included her here. She's got a large collection of manipulations and a few vectors in there, not to mention a calendar that's pure eye-candy. Trust me, it's worth your time.

ThisYearsGirl is also one of those artists I've noticed fairly often. She has a gallery of really beautiful photomanipulations that will be sure to catch your eye if you can find the time to walk through it.
From bright manipulations to the darker, emotional focus on people, she really proves she knows her art. If you like texture, you're especially in for a treat.

Valkirye is someone I stumbled upon tonight/this morning and knew immediately I loved.
She makes wonderful use of sepia tones and red hues to display her very unique concepts. Her manipulations are flawlessly executed and thought-provoking while her photography often has a lovely play on words. If you're interested in conceptual photography and want to have your mind stimulated a little, check her out.

Finally, a guy! See? I'm not sexist. But really... this artist is really inspirational if you love surrealism. His images are packed with details and concepts that will take a few minutes to turn over in your head.
His use of color is also very impressive. If you're like me and you love brightly colored surrealist images, this is going to be pure eye-candy. Make sure to stop by.
Support

In my late-night wanderings, I also stumbled upon an art group called "Exceeds." They create
beautiful art that is well worth a look. Released in packs that are a very quick download (It's .pdf you lazy bums- it will open in the window), the group is well-deserving of your support.
They recently released their newest pack, "Holy." I'd definitely recommend checking it out. I was very glad I did.
Oh yea, and...
I got tired of the un-pimped version of my journal. Maybe one day I'll make my own nice CSS version, but for now, enjoy the lovely forest.
(And if you are willing to help me figure out this incredible feat of making a CSS layout... let me know. Otherwise I might somehow destroy all of DA while attempting to make something bold.
Yea.
It could be bad.
Love you all!
As always, in sinful existence I reside.
